Welcome to the weekly guide to Doctor Who on Television. Yes, May 22 is a Wednesday. This Week is now going out on Wednesdays.
Last week's column (the final Friday edition) may have confused a few people. It was the second edition in a row to be called Vol 5, No 19 (should have been Vol 5, No 20 - forgot to check that). And, in an effort to save time and declutter the column a little, I tried removing http:// from the web links. Guess what - in some places the links worked, in some they didn't. On the Yahoo Group or at the Varos site http://www.varos.com/drwho/uktv/ , most of the links still worked. On Outpost Gallifrey http://www.gallifreyone.com , the links didn't work. http:// is back in front of all web links to ensure that the largest number of computer systems can recognize the links.
Australia - Jason Fraser of the Varos site http://www.varos.com/drwho/uktv/ has now confirmed the ending dates for Doctor Who's current run on UKTV. The weekday run ends with Survival episode 3 on Thursday, 6 June, with Doctor Who (1996) airing from 11:30PM to 1AM on 7 June. The usual Sunday reruns on 9 June will be pre-empted by an Only Fools Or Horses marathon. On 16 June, Survival will air at 7AM and 1AM, with Doctor Who (1996) at 8:30AM and 2:30AM, ending the weekend run. UKTV took time off from airing Doctor Who after their first run through the series in 1998, and again after a best-of run finished in late 1999. One assumes that UKTV is going to take another break of a few months, and then bring the show back again. As always, time will tell.
South America - Still need help from someone who has Uniseries http://www.uniseries.com.ar down there. What Doctor Who episodes are they airing?
USA - The 1996 Doctor Who Movie (starring Paul McGann) is airing on the Sci-Fi Channel http://www.scifi.com/ on Sunday, June 30 at 5PM Eastern. Use the schedulebot to adjust for local time.
USA - My apologies for doubting WCNY/W59AU Syracuse, Utica http://www.wcny.org - they actually are airing the Tom Baker episodes in the right order. Since a number of stations have gotten confused on the order to air episodes in, and WCNY seems unwilling to actually say which episodes are airing on their website, or let TV Guide online http://www.tvguide.com or Zap2It.com know, I have to be suspicious. So, where the last two columns had "The Ark In Space/The Sontaran Experiment listed, WCNY was actually airing The Ark In Space.
Canada - BBC Kids http://www.bbckids.ca/ will start airing new to them episodes of Doctor Who on Friday, May 24, beginning with Horror of Fang Rock. If you've stopped watching Doctor Who on BBC Kids, you can start again.
Radio/Internet - You can read it right below here, but in case anyone stops reading at the Additions and Corrections line - the Interstellar Transmissions radio show http://hometown.aol.com/scifiradioguy/ is devoting their May 24th show to John Nathan-Turner (1947-2002), the longtime Doctor Who producer. Since it will be broadcast via Media Player on the web as well as on 2 US radio stations, you should be able to tune in if you want to. Friday 7PM Eastern/6PM Central. For other time zones: 5PM Mountain 4PM Pacific 3PM Alaska 1PM Hawaii 8PM Atlantic 8:30PM Newfoundland Midnight UK 1AM Central Europe Sat 11AM New Zealand Sat 9AM Australia Eastern Standard Sat 7AM Perth Australia If you live in another time zone, use these to figure out when it is airing in your local time. I have verified that all the times listed above are correct.
Additions and corrections are welcome at thisweekindoctorwho-owner@yahoogroups.com , bfelliott@... , bfelliott3 on AOL IM, or thebfe on Yahoo Messenger. And now, the listings:

RADIO/INTERNET:

(Editor's note - the web links for Interstellar Transmissions have confused a number of readers. WWNN's link in particular is causing confusion. Click on it, and you get pictures of a bunch of apples, one of them stirring applesauce, along with a spiel about how the radio station is devoted to health. No reference to Joey's show at all. There's also no reference to Interstellar Transmissions on WBYU's website. Joey's show is classified as "brokered time" - he purchases the rights to use the hour. Since he is paying the stations instead of the stations paying him, the stations don't bother to mention his show on their websites. But it is airing on the stations, and you can hear it on the Media Player streaming audio.)

Joey Reynolds' weekly radio show for sci-fi news and interviews, broadcast live over the internet on all 3 websites listed above (different feeds, so if one doesn't work try another one). This week - a memorial of John Nathan-Turner. Expect an interview with Eric Luskin, the host of several 1980s US Doctor Who documentaries, including Doctor Who's Who's Who and Doctor Who: Then And Now. Also a panel discussion on JNT, with Dan Harris, Charles Martin, Benjamin Elliott, and others taking part. And more.

(Editor's note 2 - not all computers work with all webstreams. If you are interested in listening to the Interstellar Transmissions show on the internet I strongly advise you to visit all 3 websites listed above at some point before the show airs. Check each site's audio stream. Find out which one sounds and works best on your machine. You'll thank yourself Friday night/afternoon/Saturday morning - whatever time it is where you are when the show airs.)
